Frequently asked questions

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO WASH MY BIKE AND WHAT SHOULD I USE?

Washing a motorcycle depends on what type of washer you are.  You must first decide if you are:
1.  Bucket Washer
2.  Spray, Rinse and Rider
1.  If you have decided you are a bucket washer, you would start with Pure Victory Bike Wash Concentrate.  This is the finest concentrated wash on the market, just mix 1 oz of Bike Wash Concentrate mixed with 2 gallons of water. Allow bike to cool down if you have just returned from a ride.  Using a hose, rinse the entire bike, with a wool wash mitt, microfiber towel or EZ Detail Brush begin washing the bike from the top to the bottom beginning in the front and proceeding to the rear.  Be sure to touch and agitate every surface (if you are washing in the direct sun light, be sure to rinse as you go so the soap does not dry on the bike surface).  After you have washed and rinsed your bike, reduce the water pressure to a mild rinse or remove your hose nozzle and rinse your bike to create a sheeting rinse to assist in eliminating water spots.  Drying is a matter of preference.  You can use the Pure Victory Microfiber Chamois or the Pure Victory Cycle Dryer.  After washing with the Pure Victory Bike Wash Concentrate and drying your bike, it will look as if you have both washed and waxed it.  And if you have previously treated or polished your bike with Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax or Pure Victory Windshield, Paint & Chrome Polish, you will actually have increased its durability or protection of shine.

2.   If you have made the decision that you are not a bucket washer, then you would fall into the spray, rinse and ride group (actually this is the most popular and largest group).   First using your hose, spray or rinse the entire motorcycle.  Next using Pure Victory Spray, Rinse & Ride Bike Wash spray the entire motorcycle, wait a few minutes and rinse the entire bike from the top down and from the front to the rear.  If it has been some time between washes and your bike is excessively dirty you may have to agitate some of those stubborn areas.  However if your bike never gets excessively dirty and you clean it often, you can actually cut this product by 50% mixing with water, doubling your number of washes.  You can dry your bike using a Pure Victory Microfiber Chamois or Pure Victory Cycle Dryer.  One advantage to using Pure Victory bike washes is we don’t feel just because you got your bike dirty that you should have to sacrifice your wax or polish protectants.  Most spray and rinse washes will actually strip your bike of its wax protection.  Utilizing a surfactant based product like Pure Victory this will never happen.

MY PAINT HAS LOST ITS LUSTER, HOW CAN I GET IT BACK?

Our environment is always attacking the surfaces of your motorcycle.  First it’s the violet UV rays of the sun, we’ve all heard of acid rain, bugs, tree sap, industrial fall out and if you live in or near a coastal community there is the sea breeze or salt air.  First, they wear or remove your wax or polish protectants, and then they begin to cause oxidation and sometimes actually etch into your paint.  To bring back that factory new, deep, glossy, scratch, scuff and swirl free finish, we have developed a product designed to safely allow you to effortlessly do just that.  Using a quarter size drop of Pure Victory Scratch, Scuff & Swirl remover on a Pure Victory Microfiber Wax Applicator, apply to the painted finish.  This product can be applied in a horizontal, vertical or circular motion.  We like to use the phrase “get intimate with your paint”, rub it, massage it, and have an affair with it.  You can apply until the product has almost disappeared.  After you have applied it, you can use a Pure Victory Plush Microfiber Cleaning & Polishing Towel to remove it.  Buff it to a final shine.  If you have any extra deep scratches you may have to give it a second application.  Now you must remember you have a beautiful finish and shine but without any protection.  At this point you will need to protect your finish with either  Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax or Pure Victory Windshield, Paint and Chrome Polish.  Either of these products will give you a 5-6 month protection.

HOW CAN I REMOVE BRAKE DUST FROM MY WHEELS?

Removing brake dust on a regular basis is very easy; simply spray liberally our Pure Victory Tire Wheel and Engine Cleaner on your wheels, brake calipers, spokes and center hubs.  Let the product sit for 2-3 minutes and rinse with a jet spray of water from your hose.  If you have excessive baked on brake dust, again spray liberally with Pure Victory Tire, Wheel & Engine Cleaner, wait several minutes then use a spoke brush, mag brush or EZ Detail brush to agitate and loosen the baked on brake dust and dirt.  Finish up with a jet spray of water to rinse clean.

MY SILVER MOTOR HAS STAINS, HOW CAN I REMOVE THEM?

Silver motors are beautiful when they are clean and stain free.  If your Victory Motorcycle has a silver motor and it has gotten dirty or bug stained, gas or oil stained you can clean it up with Pure Victory Tire, Wheel and Engine Cleaner.  Spray liberally on the stained or spotted area, let sit for 2-3 minutes, then use a small stiff brush, scrub the stain.  Keep it confined to a small area and do not spread around, after brushing rinse with a jet spray of water from the hose.  You can spray the entire engine, let sit  2-3 minutes and rinse for a grease free clean silver engine.  Now to prevent further staining and to allow for simple rinse cleaning of your engine, treat it with Pure Victory Black & Silver Engine Enhancer.  Spray the entire engine very liberally with Pure Victory Black & Silver Engine Enhancer making sure to get good even concentration between all fins, the black or silver areas of the engine case, primary case and all wrinkle surfaces, then wipe up excess from  chrome or painted surfaces.  Do not wipe from black or silver wrinkle surfaces, let stand to cure for 30 – 40 minutes.  It will go on milky and messy, let it dry to a beautiful like new black or silver finish that will protect your engine for 5-6 months.  That means only 2 applications per year will keep your engine looking like new for as long as you own your Victory motorcycle.

MY BLACK ENGINE SEEMS TO BE FADING, HOW CAN I MAKE IT BLACK AGAIN?

To recondition or restore the factory black finish on your Victory motorcycle engine is as easy as using Pure Victory Black & Silver Engine Enhancer.  Spray the engine  very liberally with Pure Victory Black & Silver Engine Enhancer  making sure to get good even concentration between all fins, the black or silver areas of the engine case, primary case and all wrinkle surfaces, then wipe up excess from chrome or painted surfaces.  Do not wipe from black or silver wrinkle surfaces, let stand to cure for 30 – 40 minutes.  It will go on milky and messy.  Let dry to a beautiful like new black or silver finish that will protect your engine for 5-6 months.  That means only 2 applications per year will keep your engine looking like new for as long as you own your Victory motorcycle.

MY ALUMINUM WHEELS ARE OXIDIZED AND LOST THEIR CHROME LIKE SHINE

Aluminum polishing has been a challenge for many bike owners for many years, however the new Pure Victory Awesome Metal Polish will change the way you polish aluminum.  For normal polishing and regular maintenance of your stock or Ness accessory wheels, use Pure Victory Awesome Metal Polish by applying product to a terry or microfiber cloth.  Apply product rubbing until the surface has begun to turn  black, if you have water sport, stains or etching continue to rub until they have been removed.  Let product dry to a haze then simply use a clean microfiber towel to remove and buff to a chrome like shine that will last for up to 3 months.  If your aluminum is excessively dulled or oxidized you can use 0000 steel wool  (contact Pure Victory Polishes for 0000 steel wool) as your applicator to apply the polish to your aluminum wheels. (DO NOT USE 0000 STEEL WOOL ON NESS WHEELS)   Again put product on and rub until black begins to surface, let dry to haze and buff to chrome like shine with clean microfiber towel. Most aluminum polishes go on wet and get removed while wet, then having you chase a black streak for some time before giving you the shine you expected, only to fade out again after 3-4 weeks vs. Pure Victory Awesome Metal Polish shines up to 3 months.

HOW CAN I REMOVE MELTED BOOTS FROM MY EXHAUST PIPES?

To remove melted boots from chrome exhaust pipes start with Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax and a piece of 0000 steel wool.  Saturate the steel wool with the Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax, apply over melted rubber and do not use excessive pressure.  Rub gently allowing the product to do the removal.  This process will not scratch Victory chrome.  * CAUTION: steel wool must be 0000 only*   If uncertain call us at Pure Victory Polishes.

MY CHROME IS STARTING TO RUST WHAT CAN I DO?

To remove pre-rust or pitting from your chrome you will need Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax and 0000 steel wool.  * Steel wool must be 0000 only *.   Saturate steel wool with Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax and apply to rusted chrome surfaces removing the rust and pitting.  Then use a clean Pure Victory Microfiber Cleaning & Polishing Towel to dry and buff  to a brilliant polished finish, giving your chrome a 5 – 6 month protection and shine.

MY LEATHER SEEMS DRY AND IS STARTING TO CRACK, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Your leather is a living, breathing product that needs regular cleaning and conditioning.  Use Pure Victory Leather, Vinyl and Rubber Conditioner by applying to a clean cloth and rubbing on the entire leather or vinyl surface.  Apply liberally, then after it has had time to absorb, take a clean towel and buff to a like new conditioned finish.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE TO POLISH MY BIKE?

This question is difficult to answer.  In theory you should be able to wax or polish your bike twice a year or every six months.  However that depends on many things.  First what are you polishing or waxing with?  If you are using our Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax or our Pure Victory Windshield, Paint & Chrome Polish you can expect the longest lasting protection in the industry of 5-6 months.    As you know it can take up to several hours to properly clean, wax and detail your motorcycle, yet depending on what you use to wash your bike you can literally remove those several hours of effort and the 5 -6 months of protection in a single bike wash.  As an example, Dawn dishwashing detergent is a degreaser and a stripper and in a single bike wash will remove all of your polishes and protectants.  Well, I’m sure to your surprise there are several bike washes out there that will do the same, most of them are in the spray, rinse and ride category.  At Pure Victory Polishes we don’t feel just because you’ve gotten your bike dirty that you should have to sacrifice your polishes and protectants every time your wash your bike.  So we have made sure to develop two styles of bike washes that not only will not strip your polishes but with regular use will enhance and extend their durability or protection and shine.

WHAT IS A WORLD CLASS DETAIL?

Simply defined a World Class Detail is a process that consists of cleaning, polishing and protecting every surface of your motorcycle.

In our “World Class Detail” we start by putting the motorcycle on a special bike jack to get the motorcycle off the ground.  We then start the process with a double hand wash using Pure Victory Bike Wash Concentrate with a high quality wool wash mitt (also available through Pure Victory Polishes) and an EZ Detail brush.  The engine, undercarriage, tires and wheels are pre-soaked with Pure Victory Tire, Wheel and Engine Cleaner.  After the bike has been thoroughly double hand washes, we use a high powered Pure Victory Cycle Dryer in conjunction with a Pure Victory Microfiber Chamois to completely remove all water from even the tightest crevices leaving a spot free thoroughly cleaned motorcycle.  Our next step is to re-black or treat your black or silver engine with our Pure Victory Black & Silver Engine Enhancer.  At this time we also use the Pure Victory Black & Silver Engine Enhancer to treat your brake calibers, all of your rubber, plastic and vinyl.  Now we give all of your painted surfaces what we call a “body scrub” (this is like a clay bar process in the automotive world).  For this process we use Pure Victory Scratch, Scuff and Swirl Remover with a Pure Victory Microfiber Wax Applicator.  We apply the product to the wax applicator and proceed to rub, massage and polish the painted surfaces such as fenders, gas tank and side covers.  In this procedure we like to say we “get intimate with your paint”.  We rub this product until it almost disappears.  We then remove it with a Pure Victory Microfiber Cleaning and Polishing Towel.  This is followed up by polishing any and all aluminum.  We use Pure Victory Awesome Metal Polish to perform this step.    Our Awesome Metal Polish goes on and off differently from most aluminum polishes that you’ve used in the past.  Apply the polish by rubbing until the black comes to the surface, let it dry to a haze, then remove and buff to a shine.  The motorcycle is now ready to be waxed or polished.  We use our Pure Victory Liquid Spray Wax by spraying it on all the paint and chrome surfaces, wiping it in and buffing it to a shine with the Pure Victory Microfiber Cleaning and Polishing Towel.  At this point we treat the leather with Pure Victory Leather, Rubber & Vinyl Conditioner.  To do this we apply the product to a clean towel and rub generously into the leather.  This is followed up by treating the tire side walls with this same product, taking care not to get product on the tread or riding surfaces of the tires.

Included in this process but not previously mentioned we take care of most scratches, scuffs, swirls, rusted or pitted chrome, dulled or etched aluminum, belt spec removal, removal of any foreign matter melted on the exhaust pipes.  We have been known for taking a new bike and making it look better than new and most previously ridden bikes showroom new again.

We are Professional Detail Specialists and we have many years of experience, however anyone can produce professional results utilizing the Pure Victory Polishes Product Line.  We are only a phone call or an e-mail away from assisting you in whatever your question or assistance may be.   Please contact us at any time for help or assistance in maintaining your Victory or any other motorcycle you may own.
